Logo

This is the logo for the new restaurant on campus. It is going to be an italian café which also produces specialty sandwiches. I wanted to keep it simple because all the other logos that I have created for these restaurants have been simple but I wanted it to look classy as well as italian theme.

I created this logo for the new restaurant, Cafe McKay on BYU-I campus for Food Services. It is a restaurant that is located in the university library.

This is just one of the ideas of a logo for a business that I have been thinking about creating since I was a teenager. I have always wanted to create a business called DragonFire Design, Inc.

This was a side project that I did on my own time. I don't reserve any rights to this design but it shows my ability to render in photoshop and make it look authentic.

This is a work in progress right now. I am designing a logo for a Haitian Orphanage Organization for one of my classes and so it is not finished. I will be updating it as I finish it. There is still a lot of work to be done.

Brief History on Foyer de Sion

To give a brief history of this organization. First off, Foyer de Sion means "Gates of Hope" in an Ebonics language that they speak in Haiti. It is an organization to help find homes for Haitian Orphans. Haiti is the poorest country in our hemisphere with 80% of it's population being unemployed. Foyer de Sion is trying to build an orphanage in Haiti that will cost roughly about $300,000 to complete. They have finished about 1/4 of it. They are looking for people to help them finish this complex by donating to their organization. All of the funds that are donated go directly to the building of this building and for the education of these children. They are also trying to find families that are looking to adopt. So, naturally their identity is everything to this organization and I feel that they have chosen a well suited name. If you have any other questions about the organization, would like to donate money to help these children, or are looking to adopt a child, please visit their website. They are looking for a logo that demonstrates hope and does not demean the Haitian children at all. So I felt that a butterfly would describe this very well. It shows that the child is taking new flight as it enters a new home.

Ok now I am going to need all your help. I need you to comment and let me know which version of this logo you like. I will have them labeled by letters so just write the letter of the logo that corresponds to the one you are commenting about. It is very important that you let me know as soon as possible. I also love to hear your comments about why you do or do not like a specific logo. Please feel free to be open I take criticism very well. Also, I would like to know what you think of the Font choice. If you have any better suggestions please let me know. If you would like to look at it a little more close up than just click the image and it should open up in another window. Thank you.

I want to thank each and everyone of you how helped me out with your comments and you votes. It really helped me out a lot. Just to let you know I got feedback from the client and she liked E the best. I know most of you said that you liked A or B, I liked those two the best as well, but we will have to see how I refine it and hopefully I can make it better over all. I encourage you all to check back because I will be adding more on very soon.

Thanks it is just a rough draft but I am going to post some other ideas of the same composition. I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know which one you like the best.

B looks like the best design. Its simple and I like how you use the person figure to create the butterfly. Also, Eat My Hispanic Shorts!

They all seem to be made with careful thought, but A & B are my favorites. The faces allow for personality of the donors, making it more easily relatable. Any person can make a difference in the life of a child who needs help. I appreciate the distinct man and woman in A - reinforcing a proper family, what every child deserves, and what many orphans dream to have. The jumping child catches the eye-he's so excited to be in between the parents, thrilled to belong and have a chance.

Sorry for the length-this is just what hit me. I hope it helps.

Best of luck!

At first glance, they look like ears. I'm sure there was a reason for choosing a butterfly, but for me, someone who doesn't know anything about the organization, a butterfly is somewhat cliche. Also make sure that you use a more professional typeface choice. The faces incorporated into the design gives a good personal feeling. It's coming. Keep at it.
